"This is a "must visit" hotel. Beautiful area, so much to see, and with the Mas as a base you can't go wrong. Well decorated rooms, a communal kitchten where one can prepare one's meals - however, don't do this, eat in the restaurant, the meals are of a very high level, even breakfast was a total delight. One night we ventured out to the nearby Michelin starrred Ca l'Enric for a meal that we'll remember forever (in a positive way!). Lali and Toni are discreet but knowledgeable hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them. Very highly recommended." JUNE 2014

We visited this lovely converted dairy farm a few days after the infamous "snow in Barcelona". However, not even that could prepare us for beauty of the Pyrenees in all their snowy magnificence. The owners, Toni and Lali, have created an environment which would appeal to honeymooners (with their own suite), families and couples. The region, La Garrotxa, is largely volcanic and as such, offers myriad opportunities for birdwatching, hiking, cycling and of course, skiing. We went with a (slightly poorly) 10 month-old for two days and our only regret was in having so little time to explore the area. We took mugs of hot tea onto the balcony on our first morning to sit and admire the peaceful panorama. The loudest sounds were a couple of woodpeckers calling, and a contented cow clearing her throat on the other side of the valley. The rooms were spotless and generous in size with extra bed-space available. They offered us a cot for the baby. The communal kitchen allowed us to knock up some supper with provisions from nearby Olot - which even boasts a couple of Michelin starred restaurants, and Toni and Lali offer a hearty breakfast, to start your day. Mas el Guitart (they call them casas rurales) has its own pool and spa and offers massage therapy for weary walkers. There are a few child-friendly animals to play with; books and games and - for the desperate - a TV. We didn't do justice to this largely undiscovered region and are already planning a return trip. Next time we'll bring binoculars and walking boots. Hemos desfrutado de un maravilloso fin de semana en un lugar espectacular y una region inolvidable. What a wonderful spot, a hospitable hosten, beautifully decorated rooms with an eye for detail, whish the mantra of the cow bells added to the rustic peace. So convenient also to be able to do some washing e ironing in between hotels. Wish we had known a place litle this when our children were small ! Thank you very much for a very enjoyable stay.

Have enjoyed a lovely tours countryside best were Beget, Besalú. Excelent restaurants included Les Cols (Olot), Els Fogons de Can Llaudes ( Besalú ) and Calsas Era (Beget). Many thanks for a most enjoyable stay and look forward to returning in sep/oct.
